Our mission

At BAiSICS, we're driven by a singular vision: to make AI accessible, practical, and indispensable for SMEs. We've seen the gap between the potential of generative AI and its application in real-world business scenarios. Our mission is to bridge that gap, offering SMEs across professional sectors like legal, property, and insurance, a way to harness AI's power without the traditional barriers of cost, complexity, and technical expertise.

Our Story

Founders Chris Wright and Charlie Wright, offering lease advisory services in the
licensed and leisure property sector, regularly reviewed commercial property
leases, deeds of variation, side letters, and other documents during rent reviews,
lease renewals, and landlord-tenant disputes. Part of the advice required
pinpointing key terms, dates, rights, and opportunities for both tenants and
landlords.

When OpenAI launched ChatGPT in November 2022, Chris and Charlie saw the
potential to automate the repetitive and time-consuming aspects of document
review for new and existing clients. Their aim was to improve both accuracy and
efficiency, ultimately enhancing the quality of client advice and reporting.

By early 2023, after extensive testing, they found that existing AI tools fell short of
their specific needs. This led to a partnership with OpenKit in June 2023 to develop
a tailored AI and automation solution.

By September 2023, they had a working prototype that significantly improved the
review and analysis of key terms from property documents, streamlining their
workflow. What set their solution apart was its remarkable accuracy, achieved
without the need for extensive training on specific datasets.

Recognising the superior performance of their tool over other AI products and
service providers, Chris and Charlie saw its broader potential across various
document types, particularly for professional service providers. Their solution
proposed to shift tedious tasks into a validation model, allowing users to verify a
sample of results rather than comb through entire documents, freeing up time for
more strategic work.

Through their long-standing relationship with Cerulean Chambers, where they
frequently collaborated on client cases, discussions about leveraging AI in legal
settings took shape after trialling various LawTech solutions. These conversations
soon evolved into a joint venture with Cerulean Chambers, resulting in the
creation of a new entity focused on bringing this innovative technology to the legal
and professional services sectors.
